At St Albans residents can choose their own level of independence with lifestyle options ranging from total independence to 24 hour nursing care.
The neighbourhood around St Albans is well serviced by medical professionals, churches, bowling clubs and parks. A bus stop is located only 50 meters away on Colombo Street.

We provide a varied activities programme for our residents which includes themed functions and a focus on current local events. Residents choose what they would like to participate in and also spontanously gather together for activities of interest. St Albans Retirement Village units are available under the "Occupation Right Agreement" (ORA). St Albans is a registered retirement village and is a full member of both the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) and the New Zealand Aged Care Association (NZACA). If you are 65 or over and you need further care, a Government allowance may be available to assist with fees in your Serviced Apartment. Work and Income New Zealand will explain the assistance available and eligibility criteria.

1. How are my rights protected?
Our Statutory Supervisor Anchorage Trustees Services Ltd is appointed for the sole purpose of protecting resident rights.
2. Are there care packages available for the serviced apartments and studios?
At St Albans we tailor care packages to suit individual needs. Our studios and apartments are all certified to provide rest home care if required. Some residents are eligible to receive subsidised rest home care, and we can help you with this.
3. What happens if I have a house to sell before I can pay for my new apartment?
An application to purchase can be made subject to the sale of your house. We can provide time for you to sell your house. This timeframe can be negotiated at the time, and we’ll try to work in with you as much as we can.
4. What happens to the apartment when I leave?
Once purchased, you own the unit until it is relicenced again by another applicant. You will be responsible to continue paying weekly village outgoings. Care fees cease on date of leaving the unit.
5. What happens if my needs change and I need a greater level of care?
Existing residents receive priority to move to a different area of the facility. This is however dependent on availablility of rooms. Naturally you may have other questions, so feel free to contact us any time to discuss your individual needs.
