The community offers a range of options from independent villas and serviced apartments through to modern care rooms for rest home and hospital-level care, almost every type of living arrangement is available. A highlight for independent living is the new ergonomically-designed Living Well apartments, which are linked to recreational and social facilities by timber decks and garden walkways.
A contemporary way of life that embraces electric cars, sustainability and voluntary work
You have the option of giving up car ownership if choose to live at Park Lane. Independent residents have free use of our electric vehicles, which are even easier to drive than regular cars. Another way we’re breaking the mould is involving residents with the smooth running of the community. You are encouraged to get involved with organising activities and excursions. You can also help out with special initiatives, like market days and outdoor projects. When you have a great idea that enhances community life, others will be keen to help you make it happen.
Right next door to Park Lane is the innovative Arvida Good Friends Living Well Centre, complete with swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, health services and much more. This centre is designed to help older Cantabrians live well. All Park Lane residents have complimentary Moving Well Memberships to Arvida Good Friends, so they can use the gym and pool during opening hours.

Living Well Apartments
60 – 143sqmLiving Well apartments are a new Arvida concept for retirement living. Available with one, two or two+ bedrooms, they are designed to embrace sustainable thinking and social benefits of living in an integrated community.
Common areas include a café, bar, dining area, communal lounge, gas fire, creative room for crafts and an entertaining lounge and cinema. A library with computers and broadband is also available for everyone.
Facilities & activities
Park Lane has a great range of facilities, including an on-site cinema, craft/hobby room, games room and new multifunctional space, plus the new Arvida Good Friends Living Well Centre is next door. Regular activities are planned around our residents’ preferences and passions.

5 Acres Café
Open to the public seven days a week 9am - 3.30pm, the 5 Acres café serves up delicious, affordable food and great barista coffee. Sunny and stylish, it overlooks the bowling green and has lovely views of the historic oak trees. Make an appointment to view our apartments with Tara today - the coffee and sweet treat is on us!
