There was lots of positive feedback from the local community over the weekend as Arvida shared plans for the recently purchased Paddison Farmland in Warkworth, Auckland. Plans were unveiled with an opportunity for feedback during a public drop-in consultation session at Warkworth Town Hall.
After purchasing the 55 hectare land in February, Arvida is preparing a private plan change application that would live-zone around 100 hectares of land from Paddison Farm southwards.
While approximately 14 hectares will be needed for the Arvida community, there’s also an additional draft structure plan for the land detailing other opportunities if it is rezoned.
Arvida North Island Development Manager, Justin Marshall says they shared their draft plans and welcomed feedback because it’s an important step in the development and its surrounding area.
“Engaging with the community is a big part of what we are and it’s all important stuff. It’s an opportunity for another part of town to be well planned. There’s a lot of thought going into it and a real will to make it happen. We really want to hear what people think.”
The draft plans for the retirement community include building around 180 villas, a care centre and shared open spaces – including pathways and cycleways.
